Method
- Preheat your oven to 375°F. While it’s heating up, lightly grease a muffin tin to prevent the bites from sticking.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground beef and cook until it’s browned and crumbly, 5-7 minutes. Drain off any excess grease.
- Add the taco seasoning mix and water to the cooked ground beef. Stir everything together and simmer for 5 minutes or until mixture thickens slightly. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Lay out crescent roll dough or phyllo sheet and cut them into small squares to fit into your muffin tin. Gently press each square into the cups to form shells.
- Fill each dough shell halfway with the seasoned beef mixture.
- In a separate bowl mix shredded cheddar cheese and shredded mozzarella cheese together. Top each cup of beef generously with cheese mix.
- Place the filled muffin tin in your preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown, and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Once baked, remove bites from the oven and allow them to cool slightly before removing from the tin.
- Serve on platter and garnish with cilantro or parsley if desired.
Notes
Serve with guacamole, salsa, or ranch for extra customization.
