Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 package taco seasoning mix 1oz
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 package refrigerated crescent roll dough or phyllo dough sheets 8 oz
  • Fresh cilantro or parsley chopped for garnish

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F. While it’s heating up, lightly grease a muffin tin to prevent the bites from sticking.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground beef and cook until it’s browned and crumbly, 5-7 minutes. Drain off any excess grease.
  3. Add the taco seasoning mix and water to the cooked ground beef. Stir everything together and simmer for 5 minutes or until mixture thickens slightly. Remove from heat and set aside.
  4. Lay out crescent roll dough or phyllo sheet and cut them into small squares to fit into your muffin tin. Gently press each square into the cups to form shells.
  5. Fill each dough shell halfway with the seasoned beef mixture.
  6. In a separate bowl mix shredded cheddar cheese and shredded mozzarella cheese together. Top each cup of beef generously with cheese mix.
  7. Place the filled muffin tin in your preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown, and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Once baked, remove bites from the oven and allow them to cool slightly before removing from the tin.
  9. Serve on platter and garnish with cilantro or parsley if desired.

Notes

Serve with guacamole, salsa, or ranch for extra customization.
