Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • ½ onion diced
  • 1 tbs Worcestershire sauce
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • 1 tbs yellow mustard
  • 2 tbs brown sugar
  • 1 tube 13.5 oz refrigerated classic pizza crust dough
  • 8 sticks Colby-Jack cheese
  • 2 tbs unsalted butter melted
  • 1 tsp garlic salt

Equipment

  • Large skillet, baking sheet, pastry brush

Method

  1. In a skillet, combine ground beef, onion, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  2. Brown until the beef is completely cooked. Stir in the ketchup, mustard, and brown sugar. Remove from heat.
  3. Roll out the pizza dough on a baking sheet. Cut in half lengthwise, then cut three times widthwise to form eight rectangles.
  4. Spoon the sloppy joe mixture evenly over the eight rectangles, a few tablespoons each, and top each with a cheese stick.
  5. Roll the dough around the meat and cheese, pinching the seams closed along the middle and at the ends. Flip sticks so the seam-side is down on the sheet pan.
  6. Combine the melted butter and garlic salt (optional) and brush over the dough.
  7. Bake at 425°F for 10–12 minutes, or until golden brown.

Make-ahead friendly: assemble and bake, then store in an airtight container or zip-top bag for up to 3 days. Great for after-school snacks and packed lunches. Reheat in the air fryer at 375°F for 5 minutes or in the microwave in 30-second until heated through.
