Method
- Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook until the ground beef is fully browned and no longer pink.
- Add the diced onion and jalapeno to the skillet with the browned ground beef and sauté for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables soften and become fragrant.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes with green chilies, drained black beans, cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, chili powder, salt and pepper. Mix well to combine all ingredients together.
- Continue cooking the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally to prevent burning, until cream cheese and cheddar cheese are fully melted and the dip is heated through. Approximately 5-7 minutes.
- Transfer the hot queso dip to a serving dish and serve immediately with tortilla chips for dipping.
Notes
As an alternative option, serve dip in a small crock pot set on warm for more snacking time.
