Social & Content Manager

Country Natural Beef is upleveling our consumer meat brand — the public face of a cooperative of family ranchers who have done the right things for the right reasons since 1986. The Content Manager is the person who tells that story to the world.

This is not simply a posting job. It is a storytelling and brand-stewardship role. You will help people understand who we are, why our beef is different, and why a cooperative of family ranchers committed to their land, their animals, and their communities is worth believing in. Working from the content and social media strategy set by the Director of Marketing, you will build the plans, create and produce the content, and grow our audience across every channel we own.

The role serves three primary functions: 1) Build content and social media plans and editorial calendars from our strategy. 2) Identify the assets those plans require and get them made — capturing content directly where practical, and directing agencies, photographers, and contractors where greater production is needed. 3) Publish, analyze, and optimize performance across channels.

We are starting small and growing quickly. On day one, this is a focused content and social media role. As our consumer brand grows, it will expand — into a broader digital presence, deeper campaigns, and a larger role in how customers discover and stay with Country Natural Beef. You are not expected to do all of that on day one, but you should be eager to grow into it. We are looking for someone curious about where content, social, and new tools are headed, who can pair that curiosity with the taste and brand judgment our story deserves.

Reporting Relationship

Reports directly to the Director of Marketing.

Responsibilities

  • Learn, protect, and consistently express the Country Natural Beef brand voice across every channel.
  • Translate the content and social media strategy set by the Director into editorial calendars, channel plans, and production schedules.
  • Turn ranch life, rancher stories, product education, and the larger food conversation into content that builds trust and draws people to our brand.
  • Identify the content and asset needs required to execute the plan.
  • Produce content directly where practical (writing, photography, video, social), and manage agencies, photographers, and contractors where greater scale or production value is required.
  • Manage day-to-day publishing and community engagement across social channels.
  • Measure, report, and optimize content and social performance against goals set with the Director.
  • Support upcoming brand and content initiatives with a coordinated rollout.

First Year Success

  • Build content and social calendars from the FY27 strategy within the first 60–90 days.
  • Support an on-time, on-brand content rollout.
  • Establish a production workflow that blends in-house creation with vendor and contractor support.
  • Stand up performance reporting and a regular optimization cadence.

Location and Travel

Fully remote, open to candidates across the U.S., with a preference for the Pacific Northwest for easier access to our ranches and events. Periodic travel (approximately 10–15%) for content shoots at ranches and facilities, company meetings, and events.

Experience

  • 3–5 years in content and social media, translating strategy into effective content plans and execution.
  • A strong writer with a clear voice, and a portfolio spanning writing and visual production.
  • Hands-on photography and videography (capture and editing), with the judgment to know when to produce in-house versus direct external partners.
  • Fluency across major social platforms and their analytics; comfort setting goals and optimizing to them.
  • Self-directed and organized; thrives owning work end-to-end and growing with a role.
  • Genuinely drawn to food, land, and family ranching, and to telling stories that matter.
  • Preferred: food, agriculture, or values-based brands; Adobe Creative Suite; brand-building or refresh experience.

Competencies

  • Storyteller – Turns ranch life, product, and mission into content that builds trust and moves people.
  • Producer – Knows when to create and when to direct; gets quality work made either way.
  • Analyst – Reads the data and optimizes to goals.
  • Steward – Protects our brand voice and our mission in every piece.

Country Natural Beef Overview

Country Natural Beef got its start in 1986 when some forward-thinking ranchers, Doc and Connie Hatfield, had an idea to pool together a network of local ranchers to raise natural beef for customers. This idea would allow ranchers to remain economically viable while providing natural, sustainably raised beef to consumers. Over thirty years later, the Co-Op is still deeply rooted in the philosophy of sustainability for the ranchers, the cattle, and the environment.

Country Natural Beef has expanded its footprint from the Pacific Northwest to providing quality meat to customers all over the Western United States and to retailers like Whole Foods, New Seasons Market, PCC, Town & Country, Chipotle, ShakeShack and more. The Co-Op’s growth hasn’t taken away from its primary focus of having high animal welfare standards, being stewards of the land, and giving back to its rural communities. Country Natural Beef embraces animal welfare, quality, and environmental stewardship with 3rd party verified attributes like GAP, Non-GMO, and Grazewell™.

Operations

Country Natural Beef (CNB) started with 13 original ranchers. Today, there are 90+/- ranches that comprise CNB processing 60-70,000 head of cattle annually and represent approximately 200,000 cows across roughly 6.5 million acres. The cooperative has a 6-member Board of Directors and is managed by a CEO and support staff; including finance & admin, production, marketing, sales & inventory, and membership.

Vision of CNB

To create premium marketing opportunities for a trusted group of ethical ranch families who are focused on preserving our natural resources and open spaces for the next generation of producer and consumer alike.

Mission of CNB

To provide a premium quality and process verified product to customers who value producers who do the right things for the right reasons for people, land, and livestock.
